TORREVIEJA GOLF SOCIETY AT LAS RAMBLAS ON 30TH APRIL

This was our first visit in 2012 to Las Ramblas, a very challenging golf course requiring length and accuracy from the tee to avoid the trees that flank most fairways as well as the dreaded barranca which also comes into play on many holes.

As is our custom when we visit this venue we played a Texas Scramble with each team member being required to hit a minimum of 4 drives. Teams received a handicap allowance of 1/8th of their combined handicap and considering the difficulty of the course some exceptionally good scores were recorded with the winning teams being separated by decimal points only after handicap deduction. The winners were:

1st : Dean Charles, Gordon Jefferson, Michael Young and Carmel Young with a net score of 61.6.

2nd : Ron Smith, Wayne Leivars, Marianne Hunt and Marion Humphries with a net score of 61.7.

Nearest the Pin prizes were won by Wayne Leivars, Roy Welburn, Mike Pettit and John Evans.

Future Events:

Monday 14th May, Peraleja, Captain’s Day, including lunch, first tee time 9.00.

Saturday 19th May, Captain’s Presentation Dinner /Dance at Fairways Restaurant, Villamartin, reservations via Marianne Hunt or Secretary.

Monday 21st May, Mar Menor, first tee time 10.30.

Sunday 27th May, Annual General Meeting at Rose & Crown, Playa Flamenca commencing at 10.30.
