TORREVIEJA BRANCH OF THE RBL APPOINT NEW PRESIDENT

Mr Ted Marsh was recently appointed President of the Torrevieja Branch of the Royal British Legion, the oldest Branch in Spain. He was presented with his Presidents Jewel (chain of office) by our Lady Chairman, Mrs Gill Burdon.

Mr Marsh joined the Air Training Corps in 1950 at the age of 15 and at the age of 17½ he joined the Royal Air Force and served for 36 years in many countries from Norway to the Falklands. He rose up the ranks to reach Warrant Office in 1978 a long and interesting career meeting many Royals and other VIPs. Before leaving the RAF in 1988 he joined both the RAFA and The Royal British Legion.

Ted and his wife Margaret (also ex-RAF) moved to Scarborough and bought a small hotel which they ran successfully for 9 years. During this period he served on five committees, Local, Area and National.

Later after selling the hotel they moved to Los Montesinos in 2000 where he joined the local Royal British Legion Branch in 2001 during which time he became Membership Secretary, Chairman, Vice Chairman and has now been appointed President. He also became the Founder Chairman of the local branch of RAFA in March 2004.
