Ladies Invitation Mixed Pairs
The Ladies of the League gathered at El Balcon, in Los Balconies for the annual Ladies Invitation competition. There are no men registered in our league, so the Ladies invite a Gentleman to partner them for the evening to make a mixed pairs competition.
This year it was an extremely well supported competition, most games going all the way, an enjoyable evening was had by all.
Through to the last eight we had Jane Kelly & Sam Salt who beat Pauline Lockley & Paco Sevillano; Martell Cheater & Matt Robson who beat Susan Casey & Peter Youens; Joy Don & Ian McLean who beat Shirley Stephenson & Bob Bryson; Pam Horton & Keith Lowman who beat Julie & Dean Musa; Jackie & Russ Tomkinson who beat June Howarth & Jeff Eflick; Thelma & Jim Storey who beat Shirley Ward & Ken Rawles; Laima Klimonien & Eddie Klimonis who beat Marie Dowson &John Boden; Ann Bartlett & Dave Adams who beat Lin Cousins & Dave Windsor.
Quarter Finalist winners were Martell Cheater & Matt Robson; Pam Horton & Keith Lowman; Thelma & Jim Storey; Laima Klimonien & Eddie Klimonis; all going through to the semi-finals.
The first Semi-Final between Laima Klimonien & Eddie Klimonis and Thelma & Jim Storey, was won by Laima Klimonien & Eddie Klimonis. The second Semi-Final between Pam Horton & Keith Lowman and Martelle Cheater & Matt Robson, was won by Pam Horton & Keith Lowman.
Then we had a very exciting final between Pam Horton & Keith Lowman, and, Laima Klimonien & Eddie Klimonis. With Congratulations to Pam & Keith on becoming this year’s Invitation Mixed Pairs Champions.

Well done, to all the Ladies taking part, and special thanks to the Gentlemen partnering all our Ladies, we look forward to seeing you again next year. We also thank Fernando and the bar staff, for the buffet and Hosting the evening, along with special thanks to Margaret Morris and Kath Walker for running the Raffle.
Then again, we have that other very special band of people, who above and beyond the call of duty, take up the chalk and mark the extra game or two, with thanks to: Max Burgazzi who is always there for us, Margaret Boden, Ann Bartlett and Greta Budnikaite.
The Diana Lloyd Memorial Shield
The Preliminary Round will be played on Tuesday 16th April 2013, and the home team is the Black Dog Ladies against the Friendly’s Dave’s Babes. The Winners go through to the next round, and the losers will play for the Consolation Cup, against our new team Labas Dollies.
