I'm currently selling our holiday apartment in Spain which we have owned since it was build around 15 years ago, only selling it because we fancy a change and feel another family would really benefit from it.
Its very nice 2nd (top) floor apartment situated in the popular La Pinada complex in the urbanisation of San Luis in torrevieja, close to the natural park.
The apartment which is set over two floors has 3 spacious double bedrooms all with built in wardrobes, 2 family bathrooms, an open plan lounge and dining area leading to a small kitchen.
There is a large sunny roof top solarium offering fabulous views of the salt lakes which is great for private sun bathing and bbq’s. The apartment is south facing so gets the sun all day.
The urbanisation is a quiet area with a mix of residential and holiday properties.
The property is spacious internally and receives plenty of natural light. It is sold fully furnished, although you may wish to update it, there is an Ikea in Murica which is handy! There is no TV or internet, we have never needed it, we were content with the radio and as we spend most of our time outside it’s never bothered us. You might different and I’m aware thats its cheap and easy to be installed.
Within the development there is a communal swimming pool and separate childrens pool and secure parking. A pool attendant operates during the summer months for that added piece of mind. There are also views of the pool from the apartment.
The development is next to the natural park of Torrevieja. The property backs onto the park which can be accessed via a gate direct from the complex straight into the wooded park area for walks or cycling routes!
As the apartment is on a gated complex with electric gates and a night time security guard it offers great security both night and day, great if you are leaving the apartment vacant for months at a time.
Within 5 minutes walking distance there are bars, restaurants and 2 small supermarkets, however there is a bus service which operates just outside the development which has direct services to the commercial centres and beaches of Torrevieja. Other local amenities include waterparks, shopping centres with shops including Zara, h&m, Guess and Jack Jones, Habaneras Shopping Centre, Carrefour shopping centre, Lidl and Maradona. If you drive there are stunning beaches, towns and villages to visit as well as the capital of Alicante.
There are also markets in the surrounding areas 7 days a week which sell fresh local produce and the usual wares of a typical Spanish market, bags, sunglasses, lace, etc.
Murcia and Alicante airports are only 35 minutes drive away which makes for easy all year round flight availability. The transfer cost from the airport to the apartment is €35 -€50 depending on who you book with. I have several numbers of friends who will pick up which means you don’t have to pay the more expensive price.
The current residents in the complex vary from several parts of the UK, Germans, Spanish and Irish, some live there full time and others have holiday homes. There is a real sense of friendly community spirit which makes the La Pinada complex an ideal place to live or holiday. There are community costs of £110 per quarter, this pays for the upkeep of the exterior paint work, pool, communal areas, mature plants, night time guard and summer time pool attendant.
In April 2006 the World Health Organisation confirmed that the beautiful year-round climate of the Costa Blanca was one of the healthiest areas of the world in which to live. Even to this date people who live in and know the region will attest to that fact.
The sunny climate guarantees a better well being, which is ideal for people who are unfortunate to suffer from asthma, arthritis and skin disorders like eczema and psoriasis. Torrevieja situated next to the sea in the South of the Costa Blanca benefits from 320 days of sunshine each year with the average temperature ranging from 18-28 degrees Celsius.
It is no wonder Torrevieja has been voted by the World Health Organisation as one of the healthiest places in the world to live. The reason for this is Torrevieja is surrounded by two of Europe’s largest salt lakes known as Laguna de la Mata and the Salinas de San Miguel. The high concentration of salt, together with the temperature forms what the experts call a "micro-climate" unique to this area and just a few others around the world.
These natural lagoons are protected natural park areas frequented by all sorts of wildlife such as Flamingos, but it doesn’t stop people from all over Europe from bathing in the lakes or basking in the natural mud baths, as it is said to be very good for the skin, joints and general well being. With its superb climate and positive health factors, what’s stopping you from moving to the Costa Blanca? If you have any other questions please feel free to contact.
