The Importance of Accuracy in your Tax Return

The HMRC has returned the Tax Return to a man in Evesham after he apparently answered one of the questions incorrectly. In response to the question, Do you have anyone dependant on you? The man wrote: "2.1 million illegal immigrants, 1.1 million crackheads, 4.4 million unemployable Jeremy Kyle scroungers, 900,000 criminals in over 85 prisons plus 600+ idiots in Parliament and the entire European Commission".
The HMRC stated that the response he gave was unacceptable.
The man's response back to HMRC was "Who did I miss out?".

TRAC RECORD 2012

Looking back at 2012

THE TORREVIEJA RETIRED ACTIVITIES CLUB [TRAC] started 2012 with a tremendous influx of visitors for the January meeting. This was because a visit to the Salt Museum had been arranged for the Club's first meeting of the year and it proved to be so successful that many of the visitors subsequently joined the Club, swelling numbers to around 80 members.

The February meeting was a very quiet affair as we had no speaker and held a 'Silent Auction' and pocketed a fair amount for the Club funds. The organisation Help at Home spoke for our March meeting and gave an account of all the work they do for the community.

April's meeting opened with a talk by Bob Hill of U3A which went down a treat and gave members an insight to their organisation and the various courses, etc that they hold. Pam Waller, a TRAC member, gave the talk for May accompanied by a slide show which was based around her experiences, as Captain's wife, on her husband's last voyage before retirement.

The speaker for June was Ian Phillips who gave an extremely informative talk on computer passwords and showed how easy it was for someone to decipher the more simple passwords. He illustrated how to make passwords as difficult as possible but ensuring that they were relatively easy to remember. There being no meetings in July and August, the Club met again in September when John McGregor gave an hilarious account of his life and times in the RAF.

Angela Keay was the speaker for October and she works for ACASA, a branch of Age Concern and told members of their involvement in helping people during difficult times. In November Matilde Sanchez talked to us about her life after the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War and how her family were separated from their father and the reunion 11 years later, long after the war ended. Our speaker for December had to cancel so the Committee provided an excellent array of Christmas food and Pam Donnison made a superb Christmas cake.

During the year, TRAC meet on the third Wednesday of the month and also organise a lunch, which is kept below 13 euros, on the first Sunday of the month. The Club was involved in the recent Associations Day and appeared on the steps outside the church in Torrevieja for Carols in the Square. There are also activities during the year which include walks, petanca and a picnic on the beach, mini golf, rifle shooting and archery, and 10 pin bowling etc.

The Club organised a car treasure hunt in April and had a visit to the S61 Delphin submarine and the Customs Launch in October moored in Torrevieja harbour. Some of the members enjoyed a trip to Cuenca in May and the end of term meal in June was made more enjoyable with a visit by a mobile casino team.

plans on how to triple any type of electricity.

I often wonder if anyone ever buys the kind of offer in this video? If so did it work or are we all being taken for a ride. http://green-energy-guides.com/energy-multiplier/?a_aid=specialbox&a_bid=4c55a5f0&chan=G1
It goes on a bit be warned BUT it does make one wonder.
THIS IS WHAT I RECEIVED THIS MORNING.
We've managed to put our hands on very interesting
plans on how to triple any type of electricity.
For example, if you have a rack of solar panels which generates 700 W/h,
by installing this device, you can generate up to 2100 W with the same number
of solar panels.

The best thing is that it will work on any type of electricity, the only thing that you
need to do, is to provide from 3 volts up to 24 volts of Direct Current.
This can be achieved with an AC to DC transformer to connect the device directly
on the power grid.
>>Click Here<< to watch a short 5 minute presentation and hear the full story.

The only issue is that we can keep the video up for just two days, make sure
that you watch the presentation to learn why we have this problem.
A count down is placed below the video to see exactly how much time you
have to watch this presentation while is still online.

RASCALS ENTERTAIN THE CHILDREN OF ALPE IN TORREVIEJA

Rascals-entertain-the-children-of Torrevieja. After their successful performances in Los Montesinos and Torrevieja, those loveable Rascals were at it again last week, this time making their annual pilgrimage to ALPE in Torrevieja to entertain the physically and mentally handicapped children.

Almost all of the entire cast from their most recent shows turned up in full costume to perform many of the songs and dance routines which were included in the Christmas shows. The whole cast were thrilled to see the happiness and delight on the children’s faces as they clapped the Rascals in singing “It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”. There were also excerpts from The Pirates of the Caribbean and the wonderfully choreographed dance to the Skaters Waltz. After the performance, Rascals member, Lol McKeever, took on the part of Santa and called each of the children out individually to receive their Christmas present.

rascals-entertain-the-children-of-_2_The Rascals were in no hurry to leave after the performance, and they took to the floor and danced the afternoon away with the children. It was an absolutely wonderful day for everybody concerned.

ALPE is a non profit making association which cover the whole region, its goals are rehabilitation and integration into society of people with disabilities. ALPE educates and trains people from age 3 to 21 with mental disabilities, in the Centre for Education in Torrevieja.

Xmas in Torry

We've enjoyed a lovely Christmas in Torrevieja. The weather was beautiful, up to 22 degrees some days, chilly mornings & evenings but warmed up nicely by mid morning.

Christmas day started off with a low mist which took some time to clear. We drove to La Zenia beach to see everyone setting up for their Christmas festivities, well what we could see through the mist. We had a stroll along the coastline & then went into Torrevieja.

Had a look at the Church square with the model nativity scenes, then walked along the promenade. I had wondered what would be open on Christmas day, the market stalls were setting up as usual & most of the sea front cafes & restaurants were open with normal menus. So we could have eaten anywhere along there.

Don't know what time they closed as we had lunch organized at the Filton Restaurant at los Balcones. 19 euros per person for 4 course meal with wine. It was very nice, most of the other restaurants were charging 40 or 50 euros. All were quiet so could have got a table anywhere.

The Filton centre is near our little holiday home & we eat here a lot when we are out. The Indian restaurant has closed which is a shame. I thinks there's a tapa's bar there now but didn't try it. The icecream parlour has also closed & in it's place is a new restaurant which we look forward to trying on our next visit. Of course we enjoyed several nice evenings at the Chinese, our favorite place to eat.

We went to the new shopping center at La zenia, it's very big with lots of different shops, including a primark. Lots of people there Christmas eve, shame we'll miss the sales.

We did find there are more Spanish people really struggling, quietly asking for help sat on the streets. I'd watched the program on TV before we went,on the plight of the Spanish unemployed, which was filmed around San Miguel. It's very visible that a lot of people are finding it very hard.

Although I'm not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow after our Christmas break,I know that I am lucky that I have a job that allows me to travel & enjoy the things we take for granted that we are able to do. Happy New Year to everyone. Hope the year brings better things for Spain and the Spanish people.

St James's Gate.........

For a change we decided that we would have a drive down to Torrevieja for a Sunday lunch yesterday and I suggested to my other half, Ian, that it would be very nice to go to St James's Gate as we would be able to sit outside in the lovely sun and enjoy our meal - especially as they have been advertising a *No Smoking* Area.

We got there ready for our meal and it was all locked up with shutters down - so we didn't get our meal in the end. Also there was a sign on the wall saying Se Vende.

Does anybody know if St James's Gate are just away on holiday for Christmas & New Year and will be opening shortly, OR have they finished and that is why the Se Vende sign is on the gate?

We've had some very nice evenings here and it would be a shame if they were packing it in.

Torrevieja

If it says "Se Vende" then it's for sale.

New Investments to be made to prevent Torrevieja flooding

AGAMED is to invest around €3 million in Torrevieja's infrastructure during 2013.

In particular, it is planned to invest in the drinking water network a total of €987,973 and €723,682 to sanitation, while the storm drainage network has been earmarked an investment of over €1.2 million.

The investments are part of the municipal storm water plan which is being executed by the City, the Department of Infrastructure and the Ministry of Development.

One of the main problem areas during heavy rains is along the CV-905 and so part of the investment will include the installation of a large pipe to carry rainwater away from the road and Limonar II urbanisation.

As part of Agamed's plans, they will invest in their social aid fun and have agreed to donated €2,300 to the Social Welfare Department of Torrevieja to help purchase food for the needy.
